Our Manager, Sue Vitro, and her staff have developed the broodmare/nursery  division of Stone Bridge Farm incorporating Sue’s extensive experience and background.  With a resident mare population which typically numbers about 50, the farm is in motion 24/7 during the foaling season.  There are 8 foaling stalls in the 2 broodmare barns, each measuring 14’ x 20’.  All stalls are equipped with cameras viewable from the barn’s office as well as the manager’s house.  Fire monitoring systems and auxiliary propane generators enhance the safety and efficiency of operations. New foals have only a short walk from the barn to an 80’ x 160’ covered “Mega Dome” where they are able frolic in the 3 internal paddocks should the weather be inclement. Shipping of mares is provided by our own trailers, whether to New York, Kentucky or Maryland based stallions.

After weaning, our young horses take up residence at Clark Road which features a 180’ X 40’  yearling barn with 24 12’ x 12’ stalls, a veterinary examination stall. and automatic waterers.  Yearlings are prepped in a round barn with a Ride Rite surface designed for their health and safety.  2 large (70’ x 42’) run-in sheds with 4 stalls attached to each, additional paddocks, and smaller run-in sheds enhance the amenities.

Sue and her team continuously strive to maintain an environment at Stone Bridge Farm where all horses are under a watchful eye, yet enjoy the benefits of liberal turnout and fresh air. Complemented by an excellent feeding program, our horses thrive, do well at the sales and at the track.
